ALL FAITHS YOUTH JAZZ CAMP

All Faiths Youth Jazz Camp is an evening music camp during which students will work with jazz educators and recording artists from around the tri-state area to foster a greater understanding of jazz improvisation and how to work with a large jazz ensemble. Students will rehearse daily for one week, from 6p-8:30p in preparation for a concert at the end of the week.

In addition to ensemble work and improvisation classes, each day will feature guest artists of varying religious backgrounds that will share their experiences as musician, and describe how their religious beliefs affects performance of jazz and their conduct as a professional musician.

DR. ANTHONY BRANKER

All Faiths Youth Jazz Orchestra is designed for instrumentalists with a minimum of 3 years of experience playing their instrument.
Under the direction of the internationally renowned jazz educator, conductor and composer, Dr. Anthony Branker, students will explore advanced jazz repertoire, phrasing and articulation, and improvisation in the context of a large jazz ensemble.

All Faiths Vocal Ensemble is designed for vocalist with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an ensemble setting.
Students will explore advanced jazz repertoire, phrasing and articulation, and improvisation in the context of a vocal jazz ensemble.

All Faiths Jazz Symphony is designed for instrumentalist with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an ensemble setting.
Students will explore advanced jazz repertoire, phrasing and articulation, and improvisation in the context of a symphonic orchestra.

Jr. Boppers
Beginning Improvisation

The Jr. Boppers improvisation course in designed for young musicians ages 7-10, interested in musical creativity and jazz improvisation

Bop Start
Improvisation I
Ages (11-17)
Audition Required

The Bop Start improvisation course is a beginning/intermediate improvisation course for instrumentalists and vocalists. Bop Start introduces concepts of improvisation over simple chord changes (i.e. Major Blues, Minor Blues, I-vi- ii-V-I)

Bop City
Improvisation II
Ages (11-17)
Audition Required

The Bop City improvisation course is an intermediate/advanced course designed for instrumentalists and vocalists looking to improve their improvisation skills. Bop City focuses on building a more advanced jazz vocabulary, and chord-scale relationships in the context of complex chord changes.
